evaluation

Evaluation
For this project we had to create a short story for are new film that we would be making in class it would be no shorter than 45 seconds and no longer than 1 minute. For this project we could do anything we wanted as long as it had no violence in it and was between these two times.
First we had to do are research like every project so we was watching short films for the first lesson and was told to watch more films at home before we go to bed or even if we have a spare 10 minutes just to watch a few and this research was some of the best we have done because it was just watching films then taking a few notes on them after words.
For are proposal we had to create one each and then we would be put in a group with two other people and would have to decide which one we would want to do which I really did not mind as I know someone would have a really good idea for are work and they both did in my opinion and we went for Dom’s which was an idea from the game fallout with the vaults and stuff like that.
When it came to acting it we finished pretty quick it took us like 1 hour to finish it. However we choice to film in a very busy place which people would need to use and we did not realise how busy it was we just thought we could use it for like 30 minutes and be done but no one person came and left 5 minutes later another came and being the nice people we are we let them go until we had enough and just said no we need it so what should of taken us like 1 hour took us like 2 hours 45 minutes.

Then when it came to editing the real problems came around because we could do nothing because the software kept crashing constantly so when we did get something done it was crash and would not save because it would just close itself and not save anything its done so overall it was awful editing this with the software being used. But finally we used different computers and we finally got it done and by the end we had just had enough of this project and wanted to move on.

Copyrights

In today's first lesson

BBFC
The U symbol stands for Universal. A U film should be suitable for audiences aged four years and over. However, it is impossible to predict what might upset a particular child, especially at this lower end of the category range.
Characters may be seen kissing or cuddling and there may be references to sexual behaviour. However, there will be no overt focus on sexual behaviour, language or innuendo.

PG stands for Parental Guidance. This means a film is suitable for general viewing, but some scenes may be unsuitable for young children. A PG film should not unsettle a child aged around eight or older. Parents should consider whether the content may upset younger, or more sensitive, children.(cool running)
There may be mild bad language (such as ‘shit’ or ‘son of a bitch’) in a PG film, but the context and delivery are always important..
Sex references are unlikely unless they are underutilized and infrequent. In addition, if a child is unlikely to understand a reference, we may allow it at PG. Comedy can also often lessen the impact of sex references and innuendo.(In the Simpson there is a teacher called miss hover and in one of the scene they say i see why they call you miss hover)

The 12A requires an adult to accompany any child under 12 seeing a 12A film at the cinema. This is enforced by cinema staff and a cinema may lose its license if adult accompaniment is not enforced for children under 12 admitted to a 12A film.

The BBFC's Guidelines state that strong language (e.g. 'f***') may be passed at 12 or 12A, depending on the manner in which it is used, who is using the language, its frequency and any special contextual justification. There is some allowance for puns on strong language at this category.

No-one under 15 is allowed to see a 15 film at the cinema or buy/rent a 15 rated video.
sex references run throughout the film and you may see a sex scene and some on people parts.
There will be strong violent acts throughout the film.

No-one under the age of 18 may be allowed to see this film
There will be strong language throughout the film with word  as F*** and C***.
there will be sexual content in this film at all the time

Attack on the Block
http://www.bbfc.co.uk/case-studies/attack-block
This film is a 15 because it uses strong language throughout the film and sexual content in this film and also shows off a robbery which is looked down on as you are stealing someone else hard work and what they payed for.

Freak
http://www.bbfc.co.uk/case-studies/freaks
This film is a 12 as it contestant some sexual content and violent content which for younger views might be inappropriate.

I would say for are group which contants me Dom and Nathan and as a group we have decided that are short film will be at a 15 as we believe that it would be unsuitable for people under that age range as they might see it as ok to start to kill people with teddy bears

Group Decisions

For this lesson we had to create a storyboard of are idea for the short film we will be producing with are group. In my group we have Nathan, Dom and Me and me and Dom were creating are storyboard so we had to deiced what scene this will be a basic explanation of the scene and drawing of the scene and a camera shot for the scene and we decided that for the first scene it will be me talk in a monologue  and will be a mid shot while me and Dom were doing this Nathan was creating a shot list so we were sure of that shot for that scene.

For the second session we had to create a video production schedule which was done by the three of us as we had finished are work in the first session so the three of us had to think of things that we had to do for a video production and schedule it so we knew exactly what we are doing and when we are doing.

proposal

Proposal
For my short film I will be creating, will be around the topic bullying, and how it affects the person getting bullied and the bully. This short film will be showing you how it physically and mental affects their personality and how people may become depressed and contemplate killing themselves because it’s gotten that bad. However on the other side of the story you have the bully and why he is doing is it because of his family life is not that great so he need people to experiences the same pain as him or is it just because he wants to do it. So my idea for this short film will be having the person getting bullied having a monologue and talking about how his life has become awful because of getting bullied. The story will be in a linear structure as it will be beginning, middle and end and it may be a multi-strand story as you will see it from both perspectives. For this I will need 2 actors.

Some effect that I have in mind are crosscutting as you could have the bully’s life one scene and the person that is being bullied the next scene and seeing the contrast in life’s between the bully and the bullied. Also you may use a first person camera on the bullying scene as it will put some emotion in the short film and people will be more involved in the short film and will feel sorry for the people actually going through this in real life and are not so lucky.

I think that most of the sound will be diegetic as you will see most of it when you are watching it like the sound of the walk and other sound of that nature but I think there might be some background sound which would make it non-diegetic as you would not know where the music would be coming from.

My target audience would be for around the year 7- college students as a lot of the bully happens around this age range as this is the age when you learn a lot about this sort of thing and why it happens.

Research Terminology

Key Research Terminology
 Sam Hart

Task 1
After taking notes on your tutors explination of key terminologies, complete the following handout:

What is a Primary source?
A primary source is information that you collect yourself so you’re the first to get it.

Example
Questionnaire, survey

What is Market Research? The action or activity of gathering information about consumers' needs and preferences

Example:
Focus group, Questionnaire, survey, trailer

What are Qualitative results? These are results you get that you don’t put in a graph this is more of a why do you like this short film what do you like about it more questions than just tick boxes

Example: leaving a box at the end to write more about the thing the questionnaire is about.

What are Quantative results?
It’s easy to make numbers from to put it in to a percentage or a graph to make it easy to read

Example: percentage, graph, pie charts.

What is a Secondary source?
A secondary source is some information you collect off of others.
Example:
Like the internet, or asking someone for the information,

Stereotype

In this lesson we learned about stereotyping people because of there Interests  or there looks which you can see form this word document which we had to do where the first one is a kinda Gothic person which is interested in very dark and evil things which contrasts to the second one on the word document and all the others one to.

In the second part of the lesson we had to stereotype are self's and how we are so i did competitive and the subtopics of this was gaming/sports so i had it

Part 2
After watching Cbeebies i have come to the conclusion that the teletubbies audience profile is:
Demographic Profile
Age: 3+
Gender: Male/Female
Sexuality: N/A
Person address: United Kingdom
Religion: N/A
Ethnic origin / Culture: N/A
Psychographic audience analysis
For this i would say its for baby's/toddlers that attended Nursery.
The theme of the show is trying to teach young children new skills and entertain then by watching the show
Socio-economic status
For this there is not really a social status for this as its shown all of TV on many different channels across TV so you don't need to pay for it like some shows that people want to watch.
After watching Grand design for 5 minutes i have come to the conclusion that Audience Profile is:
Demographic Profile
Age: 30+
Gender:Male/Female
Sexuality: N/A
Person address: United Kingdom
Religion: N/A
Ethnic origin / Culture: N/A
Psychographic audience analysis
For Grand design i would say the theme for this is building houses for people that need it badly however cant afford it so they applied for the show so its all about helping others.
Socio-economic status
This is for everyone as its shown on BBC which everyone has access to so the financial status is really anyone because along as you  have a tv then you have access to this show.
